Having a Templar deciding and issuing disciplinary action to mages is a situation that the Inquisition should be very wary of encouraging if they wish to maintain their alliance with the rebels. As is a Templar being solely responsible for the discipline of fellow Templars. Your own record may be clean, but the Order's history when it comes to handling these matters fairly is...terrible.
